This product is by Thanko. It is a lying down laptop stand to use when relaxing in bed. The desk has the ability to flip around so that the user can lie back and use the computer while it’s above their head. The user can adjust the angle and height of the laptop stand, and it can also be used as a regular computer table.

Evaluation of the product:

This product is offering the opportunity to lie in your bed with you laptop over your head. The question in this assignment is whether or not it will be adopted.

I think that many people at some point in their life have thought that it would be great to have this product, that it would be great to just lie back and there is the computer over your head ready to go online. Personally I have tried to hold my computer over my head when watching a movie because it´s more comfortable for the eyes, but on the other hand I don’t think it would be comfortable to write, for example, this assignment on this new laptop desk.

To make a decision about whether or not this product will be adopted, I think the use of the product need to be considered, and the age group is also an important factor. The use of this product will be mainly “free time” activities on the computer, such as surfing, watching movies and other non-work related activities. If this is the only way to use the product, I don’t think that the product will be adopted, but this product can also be used as a regular laptop desk and then the product gets more attractive. The users can do their work sitting up with the desk flipped the regular way, and then lie down and flip the desk around making it more comfortable to use while lying on the back.

The age group is important because of the construction of the product, I don’t think that a grown man will be interested in the product because of the frame legs that is on each side of the body, and the awkwardness of sliding down under or lifting the product away when getting up from the bed. The age group 11-25 years would adopt this product slowly because of the convenience of the product when being used to, for example, watching a movie. The majority in that age group is on their computer more often than others, and they use the computer more frequently. I think that if the product is advertised towards students and young adults, the product may have a chance to be adopted.

I think they need to do some remodeling of the product, so that its easy to get up and comfortable to use, and also maybe adding some more clips or a better way to keep the computer in place, for the safety of the user.

To sum up, yes, I think the product will be adopted by the younger generations. They will see the convenience of the product when watching movies, TV-series and chatting with their friends, and they can also turn the surface and use it as a regular desk when sitting up.
