Assignment #2 by Raul Corral

Will it be adopted?

The Monolith iPhone 4/4S Micro Projector

Analysis/Evaluation of Product:
The Monolith iPhone 4/4S Micro Projector by Sanwa slips onto any iPhone 4/4s like a regular phone cover. The projected screen size can go up 65 inches and with a range of nearly 3 meters. It has a range of 48.8-292.2cm (19.2-115"), a resolution of 640 x 360, and a brightness maximum of 12 ANSI lumen. Plus, there are internal speakers. It also acts as a charger for the iPhone 4/4s, as it comes with a 2,100mAh battery, which charges in around five hours and then gives you 2.5 hours of projector usage time. The charger works once you have turn off the projector.
The mini phone DLP projector will be adopted slowly because people (i.e. youth groups to elderly groups) would need time to adjust to using it in social settings as well as the corporate world. The mini phone DLP projector has the ability to help expand the physical limitation cellphones have of a small screen. It provides the user the opportunities to view their movies, photos and games in a large screen without buying a new a phone with a bigger screen. The mini projector is also a great product for social events to share pieces of information with close family and friends. Within the corporate world, the mini projector would be an effect tool to use when trying to impress a boss of why he or she should get a promotion, by setting up a short power point presentation with the projector.

The reason why the mini projector would take time to be adopted in social life is because people would need to find some sort of wall or floor space and dark lite rooms to get the full effects of the product. Though these things are not impossible to obtain it would be an obstacle that the product would need to over through possibly increasing the light output of the projection so the product can be seen clearly in a bright lite room. Some design errors include the limited time usage of 2.5 hours allowed to operate the projector. If people are going to want to adopt this product to their social lives then the life span of the product should be expanded.
Though this product does have few limitations, overall it is an amazing piece of technology that will I feel will be used by others in the near future to share photos, videos, and electronic applications in phones with others in social settings. The ability of being able to project a slideshow of photos or a movie through my phone onto a 65 inches or approximately 5.2 ft. screen would allow me to have the home theater experience anywhere I go in life. Also during group events, instead of people hovering over my phone to see a video, a new video game, or just a hilarious meme this product will allow me to show everyone whatever piece of information I want to share.
