I went to a
grocery store in Chinatown searching for food without an English description
on. As the guy working there obviously didn’t know a word in English and it
seemed to me that there were no sort of system for the products, I picked up
something, which looked a lot like thin noodles. I was a bit skeptical, as the
neighbor-product was small, round and with pictures of octopus, but I crossed
my fingers hoping it was some sort of noodles. Everything on the package was
written in Chinese, and although it was possible to see what was inside, I
really wasn’t sure if it was ordinary noodles or some octopus-thing shapes as
noodles. When I opened the package, it was eight hard blocks, which is
different from the noodles I normally buy. I decided to prepare it the way I
prepare noodles, and added some cubes of chicken to give it some taste. After a
few minutes, I considered it ready, as they had expanded and started to look a
lot more like noodles. There was absolutely no flavor at all other than the
chicken I added. I believe I purchased some sort of noodles, although I
experienced some terrible stomachache after eating it.
